Masmelas, Initially started as a single member company offering bookkeeping and payroll services and has been growing since then. Our clients have referred us to more clients and this way our business has grown. We have experience in many different areas; with each clients we have worked with. For us, when any member of my company goes to a new client, our principal goal is to serve and find solutions to any problem we can fix. Our clients growth is our growth.

Masmelas, LLC has been around for more than 5 years, we are also prepare taxes for individuals and companies. We apply the tax accounting methods for our clients! We have been working in the Northern Virginia area for most of this time but we also have clients in MD, and DC too.

We use QuickBooks since 2003 and we have a lot of experience with payroll, ADP, Paycheck reports and payroll liabilities. We've even done reconstruction of payroll too. We can offer a lot of options for your company, because we have been working with a lot of different kinds of companies that continually give us the advantage to learn what things we can improve as a small company and to make us even better.

Our Team

Our Team is supported by two other bookkeepers, Omar and Denice, who are excellent at what they do. We all work onsite and often remotely so the best way to catch us is by email.

Martha Hicks

Martha Hicks is the VicePresident and Founder of Masmelas, LLC. Over the years she has worked as a bookkeeper for a public accounting firm and as a bookkeeper or Staff Accountant for several small and large private companies.

Denice Touzard

Denice started Masmelas, LLC in 2004 after leaving a management job in the Accounting Department at a large mortgage firm. She thought, "I need to get back to doing what I love the most, small business accounting".

Omar Del Valle

Omar has worked for Masmelas for 2 years, where he's learned a lot. He loves data entry, and we love having him! "To me bookkeeping is fun. I enjoy the precision it takes to keep our clients records up-to-date. I like to work hard and can move through my job with speed and accuracy.     Payroll Services

    There are two ways to have payroll service outside payroll and in-house payroll, my company does both and we will be happy to help you either way; but for me the best way to have the payroll is in-house payroll, let me explain you why. Some companies offer payroll services, they send you the information ready paycheck and payroll taxes and also payroll forms, there are a couple of disadvantages, some of those companies charge you for the mail services beside the payroll fee for their services and then you have to pay again to input the information in your own books and sometimes this keep your books out of date, therefore the in-house payroll you can have the same benefits and you will keep the balances up to day, because you will have all the information in your own books, forms can be printed after the paychecks are done, and the payroll liabilities too, for have everything on time and when you want it it is the best option, Also most of these companies have so many clients, it takes them time to bring your payroll forms on time or any small change can take more than 2 days for you to receive them, none of those problems happen when you do it in your own office.
